April 2014 Newsletter

Secretary Hillary read the minutes from last month’s meeting and they were approved. We currently have 564 members and last year we had 566 so pretty nearly the same. Treasurer Gail reported that she will have the steak/shrimp raffle tickets at our May meeting which is the last meeting before our summer recess. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and it will be held September 13th at the Perry Firemens Building. The early bird drawing will be held the first week in August.

This Sunday April 13th will be our Landowner Appreciation Picnic to be held at the Warsaw Legion Hall. Setup will start at 9:30am and we will be serving another great chicken barbeque prepared by member Steve Mehlenbacher and his family. If you would like to help with any aspect of setting up and serving your efforts will be appreciated. The event will be from 12:30-3pm. Also if you would like to bring a doorprize(s) that would be great too as we love to hand them out to our landowner guests. This is always a fun event and a great way to say thanks to our partners in making our sport a safe and fun one.

Our antique snowmobile show is coming up fast. Saturday May 17th we will be at the Charcoal Corral in Perry for this big event. We encourage as many members to come as possible as Tim and Jay work hard to promote this show. Workers will be needed from 7am on. We get many exhibitors from far away that look forward to coming to this show but we need our members to help and support this as well.

Trail Coordinator Steve reported on our trails being GPS’d which is a step forward in doing this for the whole system statewide. Many thanks go out to Steve and his dedication to making sure we have the best trails possible. I personally put on 1108 miles this year and I want to thank everyone involved with the club who work to make our local sport run as smoothly as possible. Lots of people and many hours go into this endeavor so we can run around and have fun in the cold when everyone else is inside.

This winter was an encouraging one for me. I enjoy the friendliness of our Club and the work that is done on it’s behalf. Thanks for a great season…Jeff f.
