August 2021 Newsletter

Vice President Nate Merle called the meeting to order in the outdoor pavilion of the Silver Lake Sportsmens Club at 11:10am.

Treasurer Gail gave out her report and answered any questions. She explained that our grant application is under review at NYS Parks and Rec.

Trail Coordinator Steve said our rough cut oak is starting to come in. We use a lot of it each year for bridge construction and repair. All forms of wood have gone up in price in this past year so we’re paying more too.

Brian Bartron volunteered once again to put together and run our February Daily Drawing. We will offer cash or guns and K & K will be our supplier. Tickets will be available in November.

Tom and Jane Gebel were collecting ticket subs and monies for our September raffle. If you still have any to turn in please do so before Wednesday September 1st. Their number is 585 734 1903.

We tragically lost member Bruce Largey this past August 24th and he was acknowledged at our meeting as a longtime dedicated member of OVSA. A celebration of his life will be held this Wednesday September 1st at the Wolf Creek Event Center in Castile. This will be held at 2pm. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family.

Let’s all enjoy the rest of our beautiful WNY summer and look forward to some winter fun.

Thank you as always for your support of OVSA.
