November 2019 Newsletter

Our November meeting was called to order at 11:08 and the October minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer Gail handed out her report which is always very clear and easy to understand.

Our upcoming safety course is this Saturday November 9th at RNE Precision which is owned by Dennis Murphy. The course is for 10 years old and up and runs from 8-4pm.

Trail Coordinator Steve brought in posters that show the opening day of sled season this year is December 18th. Steve talked about the work needing to be done at the groomer barn and made an appeal for help. Piling new lumber, reflectors on our new orange stakes and some minor groomer work. A gate has also been put up on Dave Otts property. He also spoke about his ideas for 2 small bridges off of Silver Springs Rd. We also seem to be missing a 20′ piece of 2′ culvert tube that was in the ditch on Oatka Road where our new crossing is. If anyone has any knowledge of it’s disappearance please contact us. Steve also mentioned some ideas for the trail on Cotton Rd. which needs some rerouting.
Steve also brought in tickets for our annual February Daily Drawing. If you would like some to sell or for yourself please contact Brian Bartron at 716 491 1847.

December 1st 11am will be our next meeting and also our Christmas Buffet hosted by the Sportsmens Club. Member cost is $5/person. We have also contacted the Letchworth State Park Police to come and update us on any trail changes and bring their night riding stickers. Remember to bring your current registration and insurance card to get one.

Our annual elections were held and we have a new President and Vice President.

Chance Vogt is our new President.
Nate Merle is our new Vice President.

We would like to thank these young men for stepping up to help OVSA continue on it’s future path.

Gail Lawson is our current Secretary/Treasurer and there wasn’t any candidate for her position(s). There will have to be in the near future as Gail will be retiring too. Young people are the key for the future and filling vital roles. Jim Day and I are still in the club and we’ll be around to help our new officers and of course the club. I will still be doing Membership and whatever else we can help with.

Thank you for all your support over the years and we’ll continue with the work of our great club.

Past President Jeff Fitch
