March 2026 Newsletter

Our March meeting was called to order by President Nate Merle at 11:08am. Currently we have 405 members which is the highest we’ve had in a number of years. With back to back good sledding seasons the interest has increased in our sport. Last season we had 33 riding days and so far this season we’ve had 31 days.

Minutes from last month’s meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer Michelle gave the very successful results of the Dice Run and a big thank you to all who participated and helped. 15 tee shirts are currently available for sale at the Sportsmens Club.

A thank you card will be sent to the Bliss Bar and Grill for their tremendous efforts on our behalf. A sympathy card will also be sent to the Gregoire family for their tragic loss of their son recently.

The annual NYSSA convention will be held at the end of April and if you are interested in attending please let President Nate know.

TC Steve spoke of bridge repair work to be done and a number of items regarding our groomers. We had great team work in grooming for the Dice Run. We had 120 parties who rolled dice during the event and thank you cards will be sent to all who made donations. The top three winners were members of OVSA and they are donating their winnings to the Gregoire family in memory of their son.

Jeff Nevinger spoke about the GPS systems being installed in our groomers. This system will give information on what trails have been groomed. There is also a GTS (groomer tracking system) that will omit the need for paper tracking of routes and time spent grooming.

TC Steve also showed off some of our new logo clothing and stickers which are available for purchase. Jackets, vests, hoodies, tee shirts.

Super raffle tickets also need to be turned in to Jack Rase as soon as you can.

Our next meeting will be April 12th and our last meeting of the season and annual landowner chicken barbeque will be held May 17th at the Warsaw Legion Building in the Park 12 noon. Thank you for making this a great season once again and for your support of OVSA.

Meeting was adjourned 12:04pm.
