January 2019 Newsletter

Thanks to everyone for showing up at our meeting yesterday as we had a pretty decent crowd of hard working club members just hoping for some snow to show up soon.

We currently have 253 members as noted when the minutes were read and approved.

Treasurer Gail answered questions on her report and hopefully our 70% trail fund should be in soon. This is not a gift from the state but merely a return on monies that we’ve paid through snowmobile registrations in New York State. The fund varies every year depending solely on how many sleds are registered. Thanks to Mike Black for his work with the County Federation on our behalf.

Our landowner picnic will be held at the Warsaw Legion Sunday May 5th.

Trail Coordinator Steve reported on the progress of the new bridge over the Oatka in Warsaw so that sledders can ride up to Kwik Fill for fuel. More work was done after meeting with an additional smaller bridge being built too. Other bridges off of Lake, Suckerbrook and Silver Springs Rd have been attended to.

Steve said the 160 groomer is getting a new radiator core and our other groomers are ready for work.

Also a thank you for workers checking the trails for down trees/limbs from our recent windstorm.

Tim Rosenberg is looking for anyone who’s interested in working with him on an antique sled show. We didn’t have one last year and he will be contacting people at Sleds of Stafford to gauge any interest for a joint show.

Brian Bartron reported that just under 800 daily drawing tickets have been sold so far so we’re doing well on that front. Please turn in sold tickets to Brian before the last week of January and thanks for your supporting an important fundraiser for us.

Jack Rase also has the new NYSSA super raffle tickets which are only $5 each with half being returned to the club.

Thank you to Dennis Murphy who will once again be riding in the Pink Ribbon ride in Old Forge this February. We annually donate a $100 towards this very worthwhile event.

The new trail maps are out so please contact us if you would like one for $5.

Thank you everyone for continued efforts in our sport and working together to make our system the best.
