December 2014 Newsletter

President Jeff welcomed everyone to our December meeting and fill in Secretary Sheila read back the minutes from the November meeting and they were approved. Thanks for helping out Sheila.

Treasurer Gail reported that a down payment has been made towards our new Trail Paver which should be a great addition to our trail grooming equipment. Delivery is expected in January as it is being built locally here in Holland.

We welcomed Park Director Roland Beck and Officer Marcek who spoke to us about trails at the Portageville end of the Park where there is some re-routing. They also gave out night riding stickers to those who filled out the paper. We are always happy to have them each year at our December meeting.

Trail Coordinator Steve Cox said the Dick Road bridge outside of Warsaw (20a) is being closed by the County so a new route is being worked out. Possibly the same as it was years ago. There has also been a short reroute of the S40 by Cowie Road on the Pavilion Trail Tim Rosenberg mentioned. A groomer seminar will be held December 20th at the Byrncliff if you are interested in becoming a groomer this is a valuable training course. Please contact Steve for more details.

Brian Bartron is heading up our February Daily Drawing once again and he mentioned about the Early Bird drawing taking place at next month’s meeting (January 4th). The seller wins $150 so get those tickets back in time. Brian’s number is 716-491-1847. Thanks Brian

Remember to fill out your trail work logs and get them Secretary Hillary so she can electronically submit them to NYS. Thanks to everyone who has been working on trails and bridges this fall to make sure we’re ready to roll, hopefully in the next few weeks.

A holiday luncheon was also enjoyed by all attendees put on by the Silver Lake Sportsmens Club. They always do a great job for us and we appreciate it.

If you would like any of our yearly NYSSA raffle tickets Jack Rase has them, they’re only $5 each and we keep half of the profits.
