Hello to all our winter loving members and thanks to everyone who rode their sled to the meeting.
President Nate called the meeting to order at 11:10am. There are 391 members currently but that number will increase as this month shows excellent riding conditions for awhile.
The minutes were read from last month’s meeting and they were approved.
Treasurer Michelle reported that we received the 70% trail grant monies which is always very helpful.
Brian Bartron said there were 850 tickets sold for this year’s February Daily Raffle and the first drawing is tonight. Thank you Brian for doing this once again.
There is a lot of drifting with the wind so be careful when riding as these drifts get hard with this severe cold weather.
The groomer room has been built at Tozier’s and the heating of it is being worked on.
Steve Cox and Jeff Nevinger have been investigating GPS systems for our groomers and the annual fee. These would automatically record the trails that the groomer has done. This will probably become a requirement in the future. A motion was made to buy 2 units.
Michelle mentioned that if you have trail work logs make sure she gets them. Also if you go to NAPA for supplies make sure to sign for them and write down the trail on which they will be used.
Our Dice Run will take place this coming Sunday the 8th and the weather looks awesome. Participants can register at the first place they stop at from 11-4pm.
Dice Roll places are Parkside Diner, Silver Lake Sportsmens Club, K & D gas station, Gainesville Store, Bliss Bar & Grill. Steve has volunteer shirts for all who help out. The run ends in Bliss and there will be a spaghetti dinner.
New OVSA apparel will be available at Dice Run stops and a website will be set up with our printer and orders will be taken directly.
The new track for our JD Groomer is in and thank you to all our guys who groom and fix our units when they’re down. It takes a big team effort to make our trails the best anywhere and we have the winter to really enjoy our sport.
Have a great time out on the trails. Meeting adjourned at 11:49 so we can get back to sledding.
Nate Merle – President
