September 2018 Newsletter

A late summer greeting to all our members. We know after labor day summer is closing down and fall will be here soon. Currently we have 55 members and increasing.

The minutes from last May’s meeting were read and approved. Treasurer Gail handed out the report and she answered any questions.

Steve Cox spoke about OVSA taking 2nd place in the Pike Fair parade with our groomer setup. This is a great reminder to the public of what our equipment looks like and what it takes to maintain smooth trails. Steve also spoke about various bridges that need work and sections of trail. If you would like to help out please get a hold of Steve and let him know your interest. Preseason trail work is vital to effective marking of trails and safety. If you would like to operate a groomer please give a call to Steve too.

Dennis Murphy will once again be hosting our annual safety class Saturday November 3rd 8-4pm at RNE Precision on Stanpipe Road in Perry. Please call Dennis to register 585 329 9923. This is a very important function of OVSA. Safe instruction in the sport of snowmobiling can never be taken for granted.

VP Jim Day spoke on the upcoming steak/shrimp raffle which will be held this Saturday 12-4pm at the Perry Firemen’s Building in the Perry Park. We will begin setup this Friday at noon if you would like to help with tables and chairs and getting the hall ready. Saturday we will be back early getting our final prep work done and ready to cook some tasty NY strip steaks. Jim says we can use more ticket sellers on the floor to speed up the time between prizes. This is really important.

Our next meeting will be Sunday 11am October 7th.

Opening Day will be December 19th.

Thanks for your support and see you this Saturday at the Perry Park.
