May 2023 Newsletter

Our final meeting of the 2022-23 season was held at the Legion Building in the Warsaw Village Park Sunday May 7th. President Chance called us to order at 11:03am. The minutes were read and approved from our April’s meeting.

The Treasurer’s report was given and any financial questions were answered.

We call this meeting our last hurrah and celebrate it with our Landowner Chicken Barbeque provided by Mel’s Barbeque. We hold this event to thank our many landowners for allowing us access to their property to put in the best trails in WNY. Thank you to our members that show up and help out. Everyone stayed very busy.

Steve Cox and the guys in cooperation with our landowners put in many hours to make our trails better and safer each year. We didn’t get the snowfall we wanted this year but that doesn’t stop OVSA from working hard on our equipment and trails each season.

Also be on the lookout for the newest (slightly used) groomer added to our fleet. A Pisten Bully 100 as we continue to upgrade.

Our September Raffle tickets have been handed out and if anyone would like some please ask any member or call Tom and Jane Gebel at 585 786 2332.

We had some of our members attend the annual NYSSA Conference in Lake Placid to listen to the various seminars and bring back news especially from NYS Parks and Rec. Thank you for taking the time to do this for us. Also a big thank you to Jack Rase for once again selling out our NYSSA raffle tickets.

Enjoy another fabulous WNY summer with your families and look forward to our Antique Sled Show coming up September 17th at the Charcoal Corral.

See you in the fall.

Thank you for your support of OVSA.

President, Chance Vogt – OVSA
