April 2016

Our meeting opened up to a more wintry look than most of the last few months. We sure would have appreciated this back in January.

Secretary Sheila read the March meeting minutes and they were accepted as read. Sheila also mentioned that if you have work logs for taking down trail markers she really needs them. All work done in March is counted and she needs to file it with Parks and Rec this month.

Trail coordinator Steve said our order of orange plastic stakes will be in soon and we will be using them in the fields next year to mark the trail corridor path. These should have a very long life and we can attach our adhesive reflectors to the top portions of the stake. New landowner names and addresses were also handed to Pres. Jeff so he could update our file of landowners. If there are any updates to our landowner list please send me an email and let me know. jefffitch31@gmail.com

Vice President Jim Day brought and handed out tickets for our big steak raffle this coming September 10th. If you would like some tickets please give Jim a call at 585-259-2438 or myself at 716-474-2278. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year.

Tim also went over details for our annual Antique Sled Show at the Charcoal Corral Saturday May 14th. Anyone who would like to help with this event is welcome and there is always a lot to see.

Our annual NYSSA Conference will be held this April 29-May 1st in Lake Placid so our next meeting will be May 8th due to people being at the conference.

Another fun annual event we are hosting is our Landowner Appreciation Picnic to be held Sunday April 17th from 12-3pm at the Warsaw Legion Building. If you have any door prizes that you can bring that would be great as we are pleased to acknowledge our landowners that we share such a great partnership with. Homemade desserts are also welcome too.

Thank you to all the members who persevere through the good and poor winters. Ours is a sport of patience and resilience. See you soon…Pres. Jeff f.
